Foy Vance is one of Britain's premier singer/songwriters. In autumn 2006, Foy approached if by design to manage his web presence and help support his growing online fan-base.
Our first project was to relaunch Foy's website.
Foy had previously been relying on MySpace to communicate with his fans but was looking for more control and flexibility. He also wanted a system that was easy to use and would take the pain out of updating a website.

Before we started development we spent time analysing Foy's audience to understand what they wanted out of his website. This was key to the success of the project as it kept the website grounded in the reality of its users.
Our solution was to build a blog-based website that was easy for Foy to update and for his visitors to use.
We custom built a content management system to power the blog. The system was designed around Foy's needs and included lots of helpful features such as YouTube integration to make it as easy as possible for Foy to update and manage.
For visitors, we included RSS and iCal feeds, allowing them to hook into Foy's content in a variety of ways. We also implemented a feedback system across the website to enable users to comment on pretty much anything - including news, videos and gigs.
The website was launched in December 2006 and has been growing in popularity ever since.
Visitors can subscribe to Foy's content using RSS and iCal.
The website is powered by a custom built content management system.
Videos, photos and files are managed by an intuitive drag-and-drop interface.
